What an incredibly beautiful and life-changing adventure this was. 46 days of continuous hiking through mountain wilderness, often moving 20-30 miles a day, with thousand of feet of elevation gain. They thought I was crazy for bringing my microphones with me, since every pound counts when you're carrying your entire life with you for months, but I'm very glad that I did, since I now have a beautiful collection of noises, each with a vivid memory attached to it. I have WAY too many photos to share them all, but here are some highlights from the first 10 days of the trip, along with some recordings
Sometimes I would record once I reached a campsite. Sometimes I would be too tired once I got there, and vow to set up a recording the next morning. Sometimes I would pass by a soundscape so unique I was compelled to record. I imagined I would take a single recording every day I was out there, but boy oh boy did that fall through real quick.
